Petition.io is a decentralized petition-based crowd-funding protocol built on Ethereum, focused on real-world impact that is verifiable, censorship-resistant, and governed by the people who use it. It enables individuals and communities to create campaigns or petitions around social, humanitarian, and public-goods causes, gather verifiable support, raise transparent funds, and coordinate collective decision-making without relying on centralized platforms.
Our platform aims to enable individuals, grassroots communities, and organizations to raise funds, start petitions and campaigns for causes while recording donations publicly on the Ethereum blockchain. This reduces fraud, increases donor confidence, and strengthens community-led action.
We will achieve this by:
With our user-friendly platform for creating petitions and fundraising campaigns
Leveraging blockchain infrastructure (Ethereum + ENS + attestations) for transparency and identity
Piloting with real communities and causes to validate impact
Funding will support:
Smart contract development
Platform engineering and infrastructure
UI/UX design and product development
Community onboarding and early marketing
Security reviews and testing
Smart Contract Developer 1 (DAO, Governance & Petition Core): Responsible for building the core protocol logic, including the DAO architecture, governance system (Governor, Timelock), and the Petition Core contracts. This includes proposal creation, voting mechanisms, campaign logic, and ensuring that all governance flows are secure, modular, and scalable.
Smart Contract Developer 2 (Tokenization & PTNR Economy): Focuses on designing and implementing the native token PTNR, including staking mechanisms, token utility, and its role in DAO membership. This developer also works on integrating token-based incentives, ensuring proper token economics, and aligning staking with governance participation.
Frontend Developer (dApp & User Experience): Builds the full frontend using Next.js and wagmi, handling wallet integration, DAO interaction flows, proposal creation, and the forum-like governance interface. The focus is on making complex Web3 interactions simple, intuitive, and responsive.
Execution Strategy: We follow a modular and iterative development approach Core smart contracts are already built and deployed on testnet
The risks could include:
Low user adoption: Communities may be slow to adopt blockchain-based tools due to complexity or lack of awareness
Trust gap in new systems: Despite transparency, users may still prefer familiar centralized platforms
Execution limitations: As an early-stage project, limited resources could slow development or scaling
Outcomes:
Some early campaigns may not reach full impact potential
Insights gained will still contribute valuable learnings on decentralized transparency systems
Open components (infrastructure, learnings) can still benefit future projects in this space
Petition.io is currently an early-stage project and is yet to raise significant external funding in the last 12 months. We are now seeking initial funding to move from early-stage development into real-world pilot deployment and validation.
