I am looking at how advances in AI will reshape biodiversity conservation, with a view to understanding what sorts of flourishing future we should try to create if we successfully align AI. I plan to investigate what new interventions become possible, what new threats will emerge, de-extinction technology timelines, and how conservation strategy should adapt to a world of radically cheaper intelligence and biological engineering. When previously researching the most cost-effective interventions for biodiversity conservation, I landed on precision fermentation, biobanking, and keystone species introductions as the top interventions.
I have experience in a wide range of ecosystems working on long-term vegetation tracking and invasive species management.
