CocoaNexus is a database infrastructural system designed to profile and empower cocoa farmers, ensure sustainability, and promote transparency across the cocoa value chain while aiding the EU deforestation regulation and traceability. It utilizes its Farm Management System (FMS) database to create a comprehensive farmer database on Who is farming What, Where and How. With unique digital IDs, GPS-mapped farms, production histories, certification records, deforestation monitoring, and providing access to traceable, sustainably sourced, high quality cocoa beans for exporters, processors and chocolate companies.
What are this project's goals? How will you achieve them?
Farmer visibility: Profile and onboard smallholder cocoa farmers and GPS map 100% of cocoa farms in target regions.
Traceability: Ensure complete farm-to-market, EU deforestation regulation compliance, and transparency through digital cocoa and farm tracking.
Sustainable sourcing: Create access for premium buyers, exporters, processors and chocolate companies to source high quality cocoa beans.
Sustainability Monitoring: Track environmental compliance and encourage eco-friendly practices.
Access to Resources: Link farmers to training, inputs, financing, and premium incentives for improved livelihood.
To achieve the above goals after the technology is fully integrated, CocoaNexus Farm Management System (FMS) database will digitally profile and manage cocoa farmers data. The database is programmed to automatically generate unique digital ID’s on creation of farmers profiles. The database gives a comprehensive overview of total farmers and farms registered, location or community, total areas of farm cultivated in hectares, total GPS-mapped farms (yet to be activated), certification distribution, farm practices distribution, real-time analytics reports and performance metrics. All of these aids in determining who is farming what, where and how? by deploying its AI satellite monitoring tools for risk assessment, geospatial analysis, and real-time analytics reports, performance metrics and distribution charts. CocoaNexus Field Officers collaborate with the community heads to select Lead Farmer’s (representative) in every community we work with, who help in organizing the community farmers enabling the field officers to get the required information needed to create farmers digital profiles and subsequent mapping of their farms after signing the consent agreement form, thereby providing traceability as-a services to cocoa bean exporters, processors, chocolate companies and consulting for organization's in the light of EU deforestation regulation policy.
The funds will be used for technology infrastructure development
Service provider payment (tech, field and support)
GPS-map all profiled farmers farms across all communities and locations covered.
Marketing and partner engagement
Licence and legal certification
The minimum funding will only allow us cover for the technology infrastructure development and part payment of some service providers while the full funding can cover for the full cost structure as listed above.

Lack of funding for integrating the technological infrastructure that will aid traceability in the cocoa supply chain
I launched the CocoaNexus FMS database in July 2025, and since then I have been engaged in farmers profiling and onboarding while seeking for funding to integrate other technological features for optimal functionality. I have not raised any funds and my startup is 4 months old.
